The National Energy Foundation and St Albans City & District Council are happy to announce an extension of the Better Housing Better Health (BHBH) home energy service into the St Albans area with the launch of the Home Energy Support Service. This free helpline provides households with a single point of contact for services, advice and financial support in order to help improve the energy efficiency of local homes.
Better Housing Better Health (BHBH) is a longstanding service working to improve domestic warmth & wellbeing. It is coordinated by the National Energy Foundation but works with many other organisations across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Watford, Three Rivers, Luton, Central Bedfordshire and Dacorum and now St Albans, with a cross-referral mechanism in place to maximise help available to residents.
The experienced BHBH team will provide free, confidential, and tailored solutions to meet a home’s specific circumstances including switching energy suppliers, maximising income, signing up to the Priority Services Register, and accessing funding to help support them.
Ali Vickers, Programme Manager for the National Energy Foundation said “We’re thrilled to be working with St Albans to help more residents with their home energy. During the current energy crisis, more households will struggle than ever before and with a risk to many peoples financial and personal wellbeing, we will be doing everything we can to ensure residents stay warm this winter”
